New provider for Lincolnshire GP practice
A GP practice near Lincoln is to be taken over by a new provider later this month.
Crossroads Medical Practice in North Hykeham provides primary medical care to over 6,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas.
Current providers, Dr Parkes and Dr Pardoe, will be leaving the practice on Thursday 14 November 2019, and services at the practice will be provided by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) from Friday 15 November.
Sarah-Jane Mills, Chief Operating Officer at NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said despite the changes, patients registered at Crossroads Medical Practice should continue to access services as normal.
LCHS are a well-established and experienced provider of primary and community services in Lincolnshire and rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The CCG is working with Dr Parkes, Dr Pardoe and LCHS to ensure any disruption to services at Crossroads Medical Practice is kept to a minimum.
Tracy Pilcher, Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Operations at LCHS said she was confident that LCHS can give patients a high standard of care.
Our aim is to provide a seamless transfer of services and the change will not affect the day-to-day healthcare patients receive. The change in provider comes following a recent visit by the CQC, who notified the current providers of their decision to deregister the practice.
With the exception of a short period, Crossroads Medical Practice has been in special measures for over 3 years.
As a result of the CQC’s decision, the CCG has no alternative but to terminate the contract with the current providers.
If patients registered at Crossroads Medical Practice have any questions or concerns they are advised to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0300 123 9553 (9.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday) or e-mail LHNT.LincsPALS@nhs.net.
