Get Involved

Section 242 of the Health and Social Care Act (2006) requires all NHS organisations to make arrangements to involve service users or their representatives in planning services, developing proposals for service changes and decisions on changes made to services.

Your NHS. Your Health. Your chance to shape healthcare services locally.

The NHS Belongs to us all

Lincolnshire West has a population of over 240,000 unique individuals. All of these individuals will have used the NHS at some point in their life. Our communities, including patients, families and carers will also have a good understanding of their own care and health needs which can support us to make key decisions about the services we commission on their behalf.

NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) aims to improve local healthcare services and respond to the healthcare needs of everyone in the area by ensuring patients and the public are at the heart of all its decision making.

Our commitment to this is outlined in our CCG constitution and Communication and Engagement Strategy.

These include the following statement of principles for how we will involve patients and the public:

  • Working in partnership with patients and the local community to secure the best care for the population;
  • Listening to our patients and communities to ensure that they are involved informed and empowered;
  • Adapting engagement activities to meet the specific needs of the different patients groups and communities;
  • Publishing information about health services on the website and by making the information available in other formats;
  • Encouraging and acting on feedback;
  • Engaging with the relevant local authority(ies) Health Overview and Scrutiny Committees and where necessary formally consulting with stakeholders and the public on proposals when there is need to change services;
  • Identifying how NHS Lincolnshire West CCG will monitor and report its compliance against the Statement of Principles.
